An
ex-CIA officer will speak Wednesday on keeping business trade secrets
and information secure at a World Trade Council event.
Frederick
W. Rustmann Jr., who spent 24 years in the CIA, plans to speak on
how business intelligence methods enable firms to function efficiently
and productively in an unfamiliar foreign environment.
His speech will also advise companies on how to provide
security for their employees.
Rustmann
also plans to speak about data collection and counterintelligence.
Specifically, he will discuss how detailed information can
enhance business performance, focusing on market analysis and
competitors' strategies.
The
World Trade Council of Palm Beach County will hold the event at Palm
Beach Atlantic College starting at 5:30 p.m.
The cost is $5 to Trade Council members and $8 to nonmembers.
Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
No reservations are necessary.
Rustmann
is chairman of CTC International Group Ltd., an international business
intelligence firm based in West Palm Beach.
He entered the CIA as a career trainee and worked as a case
officer and director of operations.
His primary areas included the political and economic plans and
intentions of foreign governments and political parties,
counterintelligence and counterterrorism.
Rustmann
became heavily involved in liaison activities with senior foreign
intelligence and police officials of friendly host governments.
He also worked with the U.S. government and military.
